Red Ribbon week is coming up and we are celebrating with one spectacular day where we will fill our school with as much red as possible! Read the flyer for all the info to join in on the fun!

Character Day Guidelines

  • Students are to dress up as a character from a book. If you have book, please send your student with it! Make sure costumes are appropriate for school.
  • NO MASKS! Some of our young Tigers are easily frightened, we ask that masks are not brought to school. If they are, we will hold them until the end of the day.
  • NO MAKE UP! Save the make up for later in the evening. If the student comes with make up, they will be asked to wash it off.
  • NO COLOR! in the hair. This is another we can save until the evening.

LMUSD Wellness Policy

If you haven't yet, please review the Wellness Policy here.

We appreciate your support in maintaining healthy classrooms and following the guidelines of our District's Wellness Policy. We are working on providing our families with some recommendations for snacks. Hang tight! They are coming soon! Remember, classroom parties will need to follow Smart Snack Nutrition Standards. This means you will NOT be able to bring cupcakes, pizza, cookies, homemade goods, etc. to your student's classroom.

Please send healthy snacks to school with your student. If you are not sure what is healthy, you can use this Smart Snack Calculator.

We will continue to work together to ensure are students are safe and healthy while at school!

Classroom Halloween Party Treat Ideas!

Food services has made a flyer of ideas for Halloween treats that are "Smart Snack" approved! Just a reminder that per LMUSD board policy, we are not allowed to have parties with foods that are high in sugar, fat or salt. If you are wondering if a food is smart-snack approved, you can use the "smart snacks calculator" for individual serving-sized items. I've attached the link to the calculator below as well.

Smart Snacks Product Calculator

Take the guess work out of your day! Answer a series of questions to see if your product meets the USDA's Smart Snacks in School nutrition standards*. Then save and print for your records!
