Message from the Principal

February words of the Month: Acceptance and Empathy

Reminder: No School Monday Feb. 9th and 16th.

Dear Nipomo Elementary Families,

As we move into the shortest month of the year, our building is filled with warmth and activity. February is a time for us to reflect on the stories that shaped our history and to focus on the kindness we show one another every day. Thank you for your continued partnership in making Nipomo Elementary School a place where every student feels they belong.

For the safety of your students, please do not allow your student to ride a motorized bike or scooter without a helmet. It is also district policy that any bike, motorized or regular, is not to be ridden on campus. Thank you for your support with this!

February brings kindness and love! I LOVE being a Tiger and I am grateful to be on this journey with you!

Warmly,

Jennifer Elisondo

Principal

Counselor's Corner

English:

Happy February! It’s the season of friendship. And with the new year it’s the perfect time to focus on how we treat one another.

With Kindness Week right around the corner, our students will be practicing how small gestures—like a "thank you" or a smile—can make a big difference. It's a great reminder for all of us that while we often tell our kids to "be kind," the most powerful lesson they receive isn't what we say—it's what they see.

Our kids are social sponges, watching how we handle everything from a broken glass to a stressful traffic jam. This month, try "narrating your kindness" out loud:

"I'm feeling frustrated that we're stuck in this line, but I'm going to stay patient because the staff is doing their best."

In other words, say what you feel. When they see us choose empathy under pressure, they learn to do the same. Let’s help them build that kindness muscle together.

-Mrs. Baza

Spanish:

¡Feliz febrero!

—Sra. Baza
