Getting your child the mental health support they need shouldn't be stressful or expensive. Through the The California Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) program, California public schools offer professional behavioral health services at no cost to families.

Whether on campus or through a school-linked provider, students can access:

  • Therapy & Counseling for emotional well-being.

  • Wellness Coaching to manage stress and build healthy habits.

  • Family Support, including parent-child sessions and care coordination.

  • Screenings for mental health and substance use.

$0 Out-of-Pocket

This program covers all costs for students with Medi-Cal, private insurance, or disability insurance.

  • No co-pays or deductibles.

  • No impact on your insurance premiums or coverage limits.

  • Simple Setup: We need your insurance info and permission to bill your plan, but you will never receive a bill.

2026 Safe Routes to School Family Survey

Hello,

It is time for the 2026 Family Survey! SLO Regional Rideshare is asking Nipomo Elementary parents & guardians to share their thoughts on how to make their school commute safer! The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete and will help inform decisions regarding infrastructure improvements and programs surrounding pedestrian and bike safety around schools. The survey responses will be kept confidential, and no names will be associated with any results. The school with the highest response rate will win a fun filled Bike event; to be determined based on school age.

We are asking that schools, parents, and staff members share the attached flyer. We want all voices to be heard- the survey is available via the link or QR code in both English and Spanish.

If you want to support our safe roads, you can attend the county board meeting at the Government Office in downtown SLO at 1055 Monterey St on Tuesday @ 9:00am. You can sign up to speak and let our county supervisors know your concerns!

Parking Reminders!

A few parking reminders:

  • Please be cautious of how you park. We have received some complaints from neighbors that their driveways are being blocked during drop-off and dismissal.
  • It has also come to our attention that the handicapped parking spots are being used by cars that do not have a handicap placard. We have some students who need quick and easy drop-off and pick-up procedures.
  • Please only park in the 15-minute parking if drop off will be quick. If you plan on staying with your children until the bell rings please try to park in a spot with no time limit.
  • Please do not park on red curbs. Those are no parking areas by the county of San Luis Obispo.
  • Please do not park in office parking spots. We do try to keep office parking available since many district officials come and go to our campus to service our students.

Thank you all for your constant help and consideration of our student safety and staff!

No Outside Food

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. We do not accept any outside food for our students. We have nutritious and free lunch available to all students. A student lunch must be brought from home in a lunch box. Birthday treats are still acceptable as long as they fit in our new Wellness Policy. Examples of acceptable food are below.

Thank you for your support!

LMUSD Wellness Policy

If you haven't yet, please review the Wellness Policy here.

We appreciate your support in maintaining healthy classrooms and following the guidelines of our District's Wellness Policy. We are working on providing our families with some recommendations for snacks. Hang tight! They are coming soon! Remember, classroom parties will need to follow Smart Snack Nutrition Standards. This means you will NOT be able to bring cupcakes, pizza, cookies, homemade goods, etc. to your student's classroom.

Please send healthy snacks to school with your student. If you are not sure what is healthy, you can use this Smart Snack Calculator.

We will continue to work together to ensure are students are safe and healthy while at school!
