Principals Message

Reminder - Do not park in the red at drop off or pick up

Families,

The office has received several complaints about parents parking in the red, fire zones, when dropping off and picking up students. I know you are in a hurry and have things to do, but please do not park in the red. He had a medical emergency several weeks ago and first responders had no where to park. It is appreciated if we can work together on this!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Elisondo

Principal

Elementary Cross Country Meet!

On behalf of Paulding Middle School I would like to invite the elementary schools in our district to participate in our upcoming Cross Country Meet scheduled for Oct. 7th.

This event welcomes students in grades K–8 to join us for a fun and encouraging race day. We love this opportunity to cheer on and inspire our young runners throughout the district!

Attached below is an image below that that includes more information for parents.

Elementary school athletes do not need to preregister, they just show up before race time.

We will be supplying each school with some postcards to distribute to interested students, as well as some posters.

We look forward to seeing our elementary students represented on race day!

Any questions, please reach out!

 Thank you for the support!

Walk/Roll to School Day!

It is almost time for Walk/Roll to School Day! SLO Regional Rideshare invites Nipomo Elementary to join us in encouraging your students to walk or roll more often! Walk to School Day is an annual event funded by our Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program.*

Walk/Roll to School Day will be on Wednesday, October 7th.

We will provide snacks and giveaways as incentives for participating schools

Don’t be scared... she only bites down on sweet treats! 🤪🍭 Our Trunk or Treat Candy Monster is moved in and absolutely starving for donations. We need your help to make sure our trunk hosts have plenty of goodies for all!

Early Bird Yearbooks!

Nipomo Elementary yearbooks for the 26-27 school year are for sale! Scan the QR code or visit treering.com/validate and enter our school's code to purchase now. Yearbooks purchased before October 31st will be 10% off!

No Outside Food

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. We do not accept any outside food for our students. We have nutritious and free lunch available to all students. A student lunch must be brought from home in a lunchbox. Birthday treats are still acceptable as long as they fit in our Wellness Policy. Examples of acceptable food items are below.

Thank you for your support!

LMUSD Wellness Policy

If you haven't yet, please review the Wellness Policy here.

We appreciate your support in maintaining healthy classrooms and following the guidelines of our District's Wellness Policy. Remember, classroom parties must follow the Smart Snack Nutrition Standards. This means you will NOT be able to bring cupcakes, pizza, cookies, homemade goods, etc. to your student's classroom.

Please send healthy snacks to school with your student. If you are not sure what is healthy, you can use this Smart Snack Calculator, or please check out the picture list below that has some items that are approved.

We will continue to work together to ensure our students are safe and healthy while at school!

Smart Snack Approved Picture Brand List

Please make sure they are individually packaged!

Please use this list to help you find fun birthday snacks for your student.

Freezer Treats Guidelines

With our growing school community and an increase in teachers and staff, our freezer storage space has become very limited. As a result, we can no longer hold students' refrigerated or frozen items in our school freezers.

If your child would like to bring in "Smart Snack" popsicles or other frozen treats for the class, please message your child's teacher ahead of time. They can help coordinate the best day and time to send them to school so they don't melt before being enjoyed!

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!

Pack Extra Clothes!

We highly recommend keeping a complete extra set of clothes in your student’s backpack. Accidents, spills, and messy play happen, and having a familiar outfit from home guarantees they will have comfortable clothes in their exact size.

While the school maintains a loaner clothes pile for emergencies, our inventory is very limited. Please note that we do not always contact parents when a student utilizes our loaner clothes. If your child comes home wearing clothes you do not recognize, please do not be alarmed! We ask that you kindly wash and return all borrowed school garments so they are available for the next student in need.

Thank you for helping us keep our students comfortable and ready to learn!
